The Republican party has become masters at misdirection and misdiagnosis of imagined problems. They scream and yell and try to make social issues into problems for their fear trained constituents in order to gain power and money. I'm convinced they have no absolute desire to help anyone but themselves as individuals and they companies that but them and pay them to vote in their interests. It is NOT the party of Lincoln, and that is a shame.

Prince (1958-2016)
Never pretended to be his biggest fan, though I know his music as well as most, but I appreciate his undeniable talent and impact to the music world and beyond. Rest in peace, Prince Rogers Nelson.

Secretary Clinton's Confirmation
If Bernard Sanders thinks Secretary Hillary Clinton is not qualified for the presidency based on her Senate vote on the war in Iraq, why did he vote to confirm her as the chief US diplomat when nominated by President Obama?

Some Random Thoughts
1.) Until juries start awarding families of victims of police killings such incredibly insane sums of money that departments feel the financial pain, the vigilantism that has grown in some police forces will not stop.
2.) Donald Trump continues to brag about how his campaign is the only one that's self-funded. While this may be partially true, he created a corporation that is funding his campaign. Please take note that I'm saying this: once he loses the nomination or the general election, Donald Trump will file bankruptcy on the company he founded to fund his campaign. Thereby making all Americans involuntarily pay for his masturbation act of running for president.
3.) Supporters of Bernie Sanders: WE ARE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. WE MAINTAIN LOYALTY TO OUR PARTY PLATFORM. WE'RE NOT SORRY THAT YOU DON'T LIKE OUR NOMINATING PROCESS. IT WAS CREATED BY DEMOCRATS FOR DEMOCRATS. YOU'RE WELCOME TO JOIN OUR PARTY, BECOME A COMMITTEE MEMBER LOCALLY, AND HELP US CHANGE THE PLATFORM AND RULES IN THE FUTURE. WE'RE SORRY YOU CAME TO THE PROGRESSIVE PARTY TOO LATE, BUT WE'RE NOT CHANGING OUR RULES TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR YOUR SOCIALIST INDEPENDENT CHOICE INTERLOPE ON OUR PARTY.
4.) Can all the Kardashians please just go away? Haven't seen a bit of talent or even value in anything any of them have ever done except master the art of public manipulation. Even the foundation of your empire, Kim's sex tape, showed she has as much expertise in bed as I have in advanced astrophysics.
5.) Bill Clinton is kind of scaring me. He looks horrible and sounds even worse. He's still fiesty and sharp, but his physical decline seems to have been sudden and dramatic.
6.) YouTubers and other content creators on social media are the great untapped endorsement market. Democrats need to be all over this platform and help further shape this young generation of liberals.
7.) American companies who opened for business in the US with millions in tax breaks then move all operations to another country when the abatements expire or because a municipality chooses not to renew, should immediately be required to pay all abated taxes, a penalty of double those taxes, and should have tariffs applied to their newly imported merchandise twice that of other countries. Using our loopholes, employing our people for a finite amount of time, then leaving them unemployable and middle aged is unacceptable.
8.) North Carolina and Mississippi: stop being cowards and calling your attempts to discriminate against gays and transgender a "religious freedom" bill. We know you're butthurt because the SCOTUS allows gays to marry now, but perhaps you should look at real predators like former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert before pretending you're protecting bakers from baking cakes for gay weddings. Like there are any straight wedding cake makers anyhow!

Put Out the Fire
I've remained somewhat quiet this primary season.
Seeing how there is but one actual Democrat running for the nomination, it's clear who I support.
Secretary Clinton has spent her entire political life building behind the scenes coalitions to make real progress.
Not just vote against everything as a way to promote a fantasy socialist agenda, then take credit when portions of legislation fail.
The bigger picture. That's what the Independent Senator from Vermont refuses to see. Which is why in nearly 30 years in Congress (which by any standards would qualify as 'establishment') the supporter of Fidel Castro socialism has been one of two of the most ineffective members of Congress.
In our democratic republic, incremental change is what makes us great. Tempered moderation and a little give and take.
It's time Democrats send this geriatric, unsuccessful, delusional man with obvious early signs of dementia (based solely on his insistence he still, or ever, has a chance to win the nomination) back to his beloved maple syrup-loving state of Vermont and allow the responsible adults who have worked to bring about a better America proceed to a November victory.
Go home Bernard!
